Why Vine is Better than Instagram Video?

On June 20, 2013 Instagram added an update so that 15 second videos would be available. This started an entire debate whether Instagram video was better than Vine. In my own opinion, Vine came up with their own idea and Instagram just stole their idea and threw their own spin on it.

I'm sure this is exactly what the developers were probably thinking. "Instead of 6 second videos, why not 15 seconds? Looping is old school; lets make it stop at the end of it too. I'm sure the consumers will be able to see how much better and different we are than that lame Vine app."

Many people did start using Vine less and Instagram videos has been used frequently by users. I already felt bad for the Vine app because I thought that they would get rid of the due to lack of interest. I was surprisingly sympathetic to an app that I started using it. I went to the explore page and went to the popular tag and to my surprise, I saw a lot of interesting and funny vines.

I now go to Vine daily to check out the new vines and some of my favorites come from Torrei Hart, Simone Shephard, Landon Moss, Lamorne Morris, Phil DeFranco, Shug Avery and others. They keep me laughing and now since revining is a thing, my profile isn't as boring. I reallly appreciate that when I go to my profile, I can see all the vines I liked.

But I digress, the questions is Why Vine is Better than Instagram Video? Well Vine is original. Liked vines are accessible. They have a niche and is dedicated to short interesting vines. They loop. Last but not least, people are funnier on Vine than Instagram.

Why Don't I Grow Up?

I am a teenager at the age of 17 and on my way to 18 in about 16 days and I will be legal for: smoking cigarettes, playing the lottery, watching porn (because age stopped that, yeah right) and a whole bunch of other things that makes being a kid a drag in some people eyes. Underage people would find all these obstacles as challenges ready to be conquered. Drinking is definitely one of the main ways underage kids would get over on the law and be a rebel, at least which is what they think. With almost all underage doing the same thing. They are just conforming and being like the rest.

Now exactly why I don't want to grow up has everything to do with losing my freedom. You might be thinking what kind of freedom does a kid has and when you think about it, I mean the freedom of living with your parents or guardian and having them take care of you. If you are fortunate, your parents will give you food and a place to stay. When you think about it, parents are doing a public service. They are taking care of infants unto full development. But what I can't get over is the pampering. It is something to treasure because I wouldn't be where I am without the pampering and care my parents show.

Having said, I am on the brink of legality, I will have to worry a little more about how I'm going to get fed and how I am going to pay these student loans back. Those questions will be answered while I gain life experience that my parents and their parents figured out. Growing up just seems to suck for the most part and it just seems hard to do.

Ultimately, I will have to grow up and I plan on it. I will take this challenge of life and grab it by the horns to essentially slaughter it, but in a good positive way. Going to college and getting a taste of independence is my first step. I am really excited about school but less excited about taking care of everything for myself. This is life and unless you have a terrible disability you have to grow up. I'm just saying.
